Arizona Hunting Labs takes pride in producing healthy dogs and will guarantee the health of your dogBut we are only part of the process of ensuring the health of your dog, you as an owner also have the responsibility to ensure these tests are accomplished and the health of your dog be of the upmost importance.  We guarantee we will not produce a dog with hip or elbow dysplasia, ocular diseases , or effected by EIC, CNM, or PRA (see below parameters on these tests and guarantees).

  1. The dog’s hips should be x-rayed between 24 and 28 months of age by an approved veterinarian, and x-rays sent to the OFA to be examined (Dogs under 24 months and over 28 months of age are not covered under this guarantee).  Arizona Hunting Labs can require a second opinion from a different veterinarian.  If you choose to spay or neuter your Labrador before 28 months, our guarantee on hips and elbows will be void.
  2. If the dog was certified to be dysplastic, the owner must submit proof in writing from the OFA  (a copy of the OFA’s certification)  and from a veterinarian that the dog has been spayed or neutered.  Arizona Hunting Labs will also be able to access any vet records of injuries occurring prior to 24 months of age.  (Micro Chip number must be present on written documents).
  3. The dog must not be used for breeding until x-rayed and approved by the OFA.  If the dog is used for breeding or has been bred before being approved by the OFA,  Guarantee is VOID.
  4. The dog must have his/her eyes examined by 12 months of age by a certified veterinary ophthalmologist, ophthalmologist must state in writing that the defect is definitely of a hereditary nature and not caused by injury or illness, the OFA Companion Animal Eye Registry must support these findings (Micro Chip number must be present on written document).
  5. We guarantee not to produce an affected (positive) dog with EIC, CNM, or PRA. Paw Print Genetics must be used for the testing and analysis of these canine genetic diseases.
  6. No dog will be guaranteed unless the dog is registered with AKC or UKC and carries the acronym AZ in its registered name.  The guarantee is also non-transferable and only valid to the original dog’s owner.
  7. If Said dog meets any of these requirements, a replacement dog will be provided as soon as possible.  If replacement dog is of similar breeding then dog will be replaced at no charge.  If replacement dog is of a different breeding, the owner will be responsible for the difference in cost from their current dog to the new breeding.  All transportation fees are the responsibility of the owner of the dog.
  8. Breeding Rights, after said requirements are met and proof shown to AZHL, breeding rights will be granted.  It is of the utmost importance that the health of the dog and future posterity be considered and that’s why we must help protect this great breed and future generations of athletes.
